Infor, the provider of business software for mid-market customers, says that Aldata, the retail software specialist, has selected Infor PM 10 (Performance Management software) to improve its strategic reporting and forecasting capabilities.
Following an organisational restructure to align by businesses rather than country, Aldata needed a solution that better met its needs. The legacy reporting tool and spreadsheets were inaccurate, which impacted decision making notably around forecasting. These systems also could not provide the granularity needed for reporting internally to key decision makers. These elements meant that goals and resources were not efficiently aligned.
After evaluating three performance management solutions, Aldata selected Infor PM 10 and began implementation in Q1 2009. The solution was chosen because of PM 10’s end-to-end solution encompassing strategic management, planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis capabilities. This says Infor will help Aldata optimise business processes across the organisation and provide decision makers with insight into financial and operational performance. Infor’s global support was also a decisive factor as Aldata works across nine countries and the company is expected to benefit from reduced cost of ownership as a result of the solution’s ease of use.
“When our users are fully up to speed on the system, we will see even more benefits from Infor PM 10,” said Graham Howell, CFO, Aldata. “However, we have already been pleased with how the solution is meeting our needs for more granular reporting and providing one source of data for our forecasting and budgeting capabilities. Undoubtedly, PM 10 will be a key solution for Aldata especially as we continue to grow internationally.”
Since deployment, Aldata has benefited from having data in one database rather than in multiple sources. PM 10 also provides a history of recent months’ forecasts, an insight into the performance of the company that was not previously possible. As a result, Aldata has been able to track its forecasts better across its operating countries. The business intelligence gained from PM 10 is expected to ensure that Aldata will have greater control, accuracy and speed for updating data during its budgeting process for 2010.
