ALG Software, the provider of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) software and services, headquartered in the UK, has announced more visual options for data representation in version 2.4 of its Enterprise Performance Optimisation (EPO) Suite, which it says makes data interrogation easier.
EPO 2.4 features Data Explorer, which adds web-based relational data views to EPO's existing multidimensional views. Using Data Explorer, users can analyse data in the form of record lists, allowing data to be sorted, filtered and ranked more easily. Benchmarking of data becomes easier, as does the navigation of certain types of sparse data, and data that is organised by large numbers of dimensions.
The new version of EPO includes an image hotspot feature that enables EPO screens to be navigated via graphic images, instead of just by text-based hyperlinks. This could be used to improve the presentation of navigation menus; alternatively it could be used to allow more imaginative navigation elements, such as geographical maps and product images.
Other updates include an activity driver rule wizard that simplifies the creation of modelling rules for time-driven Activity-Based Costing (ABC). Users can select the underlying factors that drive costs from activities to products and customers, and apply weightings to those factors. For example, some products might require more preparation or handling before being shipped to customers, and the wizard allows the model builder to specify such relationships without writing code.
"Our customers play a very important part in the development of our software and we are constantly updating and improving our product suite in response to their feedback. By increasing the analysis capabilities of EPO 2.4, ALG Software is making it easier for users to interrogate their costing data, whilst maintaining the high level of analysis that the application provides," said Mike Sherratt, CEO, ALG Software.
