Cartesis, the business performance management (BPM) software specialist says it has joined the European Software Association, a body of European Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) that are working together to develop effective representation at a European level.
The European Software Association was founded in October 2005 as an industry body representing some of the best known software companies in Europe whose business it is to develop and market software. By joining Cartesis brings the total membership to 32 software companies from nine EU countries as well as Norway , Russia , Switzerland and Turkey .
The Association's main aim is to work with EU policy makers and other European stakeholders to foster an environment that supports innovation and competitiveness within the European software industry. The group also exists as a forum for the development of common policies and best practice across Europe , and for networking between CEOs that will lead to better cooperation and partnerships between businesses.
"As the ICT sector is a key driver for growth and jobs in Europe , the industry needs to leverage its economic impact on an EU political level," said European Software Association Chairman Jeremy Roche. "This is precisely what the Association increasingly does for its members on a wide variety of issues and we welcome the participation of Cartesis."
Didier Benchimol, CEO of Cartesis said, "This network provides an excellent platform for Cartesis to further influence and advise EU policy makers on a range of issues including corporate governance, compliance and the effective adoption of successful performance management processes in European organisations".
