Kinnarps the Swedish office furniture company and the third largest in Europe, has selected Cognos for its reporting and consolidation solution. The company will implement Cognos 8 BI's reporting capabilities and the consolidation tool, Cognos Controller, as part of a performance management platform in all its 30 affiliated companies in Europe . The investment in the Cognos platform is designed to significantly reduce its lead times for reporting and consolidation.
Cognos' reporting solution was implemented in Sweden last autumn with good results. More than 60 users in the company can now easily produce reports covering everything from sales, marketing and production. Cognos Controller is being implemented now and will significantly reduce the manual handling of consolidation. Kinnarps estimates that the investment in Controller will have paid for itself within one to two years.
The company plans to have Cognos 8 BI, Cognos Controller and an ERP-system implemented in all of Kinnarps' affiliated companies in Europe within three to four years. It is now implemented in its Denmark , Finland , Norway and France affiliates. "Kinnarps has been a loyal customer of Cognos for a long time. The fact that they are now implementing our products throughout Europe is a sign of confidence, and its further evidence that long-term planning will pay for itself for both parties," said Dave Laverty, senior vice president marketing and CMO, Cognos.
