N Brown buys Applix 64Bit technology for budgeting and merchandise planning
18th December 2006 N Brown, the Manchester , UK-based direct home shopping company has selected Applix TM1 to provide a budgeting and merchandise planning solution. Applix says that N Brown will be able to integrate business intelligence (BI) functions throughout the organisation, eliminating the potential for disconnect between marketing and finance information. TM1 will be used by all divisions within the commercial team, to provide analysis of complex data for operational management purposes.
N Brown is amongst a group of leading-edge UK-based Applix customers such as Jewsons, the UK's leading supplier of building materials, Zurich Insurance and Thresher Group, the UK's leading independent specialist drinks retailer, who now utilise 64-bit technology in TM1 in order to process and analyse large volumes of data.
“As an expanding company, we wanted the latest technology to enable us to stay ahead of the curve. TM1's 64-bit technology will allow us to extract data from our legacy systems and perform complex analytics quickly and flexibly,” says Dean Moore, chief financial officer, N Brown.
“64-bit technology coupled with in-memory processing means we will be able to analyze very large volumes of data with much faster response times to queries, ensuring all our information is up to date,” Moore concluded.
