NCH chooses Cognos TM1for budgeting and financial management

19th November 2007

NCH , the UK 's leading children's charity, has chosen Cognos's TM1 to manage its budgeting, reporting and financial planning.  Cognos TM1 is a product of Applix. Inc., which was recently acquired by Cognos and is now an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary. NCH will implement Cognos TM1 to consolidate more than 2000 Excel spreadsheets, which will be pulled into one comprehensive, centralised database holding budgeting and financial planning data for the charity.

"The process used prior to TM1 was too time-consuming for the charity. With TM1, NCH will be able to do essential revisions quickly and efficiently, becoming far more cost effective in both the short and long-term", said Mark Geagan, project manager at NCH . "During our selection process, TM1 was the first choice for us because of the flexibility offered by the product. With the ability to create models that suit the specifics of our business, we see the potential to continue developing the system across more of the charity in the near future."

Cognos TM1 will also be used to help NCH look at future reporting for the charity, specifically in the area of performance management as well as more general reporting with the help of TM1's dashboard capability.

"We are pleased that NCH has chosen Cognos TM1 over other major Business Analytics suppliers," said Martin Richmond-Coggan, VP of EMEA, Cognos.  "TM1 offers NCH a superior financial planning solution, and will help save time and reduce costs for the charity."
