Cognos, the provider of business intelligence and corporate performance management (CPM solutions has reported that Cognos K.K., its wholly owned Japanese subsidiary, has entered into a global agreement with Ricoh Co., Ltd. to support its introduction of a new group business management system 'GB21'. In line with the agreement, Ricoh Group companies in 20 countries including Japan will roll out Cognos BI and CPM solutions
Ricoh Group companies in Europe are introducing a range of Cognos products, including Cognos PowerPlay, Cognos ReportNet, and Cognos Planning. Ricoh has built GB21 to and to make better use of information globally. GB21, which incorporates Cognos ReportNet as a solution to integrate reports and search information, visualises operational and business conditions applying financial and SCM indices. Cognos ReportNet will initially be used by about 1,000 employees, and the number will be expanded to 5,000 in the future. Ricoh plans to promote visualisation of business challenges, by implementing a business dashboard"
