Agresso, one of the UK 's leading suppliers of financial and business management systems, had another strong year in 2005, acquiring Distinction Systems, winning its largest ever single contract and launching AGRESSO Business World 5.5.
The company contributed significantly to the improved performance of its Netherlands-based parent group Unit 4 Agresso, which last week announced record results with turnover up by 34% to €352.6million and pre tax profits 7% higher at €17.7million. The business software division, which Agresso in the UK is part of, accounted for just over half of group turnover and has 2300 customers in over 100 countries.
Bristol-based Agresso has more than 500 customers in the UK , including 47 signed during 2005. Among those was the largest single order ever won by the company, a £6.5 million contract with DFID, the Department for International Development, to replace its numerous, disparate legacy systems worldwide with the integrated financial, procurement and project costing and billing modules of AGRESSO Business World 5.5 in a five year implementation, licensing and support agreement. Agresso is the lead implementation partner for the total £11 million ARIES project.
Other key contracts signed during the year were care provider Anchor Trust, the University of Bath , Olympic transport consultants Steer Davies Gleave, consulting engineers Buro Happold, the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and property services company, Erinaceous.
John Crooks, managing director of Agresso in the UK , said: “It's been a year of both consolidation and growth with the acquisition of Distinction to further strengthen our number one position in the post-16 education sector. We've won a number of important new customers and launched the next evolution of our core system, AGRESSO Business World 5.5. The new functionality enhancements in 5.5, mainly around workflow, easier ‘single point of entry' access and even greater flexibility, are causing some real excitement amongst customers.” |
