Atos Origin, the IT services company, has signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. to become a global reseller of the dedicated version of the Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite to provide anywhere, anytime working to its customers. Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite is a set of messaging and collaboration solutions hosted by Microsoft and consists of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Office Live Meeting, and Office Communications Online.
The online services are designed to businesses streamlined communication with high availability and simplified IT management.
Atos Origion says the reseller agreement underlines the Group’s long-term commitment as one of Microsoft’s enterprise alliances. It also demonstrates Atos Origin’s strategy to pursue investments in cloud computing and SaaS related activities. By providing the Business Productivity Online Suite, the firm says it will be able to provide customers with a choice on how to use and manage software.
As an end-to-end IT services provider, Atos Origin will integrate Microsoft’s Business Productivity Online Suite for current and future customers as part of their already extensive Atos Origin portfolio of end-to-end IT services. “The Business Productivity Online Suite offering helps customers to reduce their operational cost through streamlined software and services delivery, making it a strong addition to our strategic offering ‘the Adaptive Workplace’, a family of solutions that offer flexibility and cost savings while enabling workforce efficiency through a standardized IT workplace environment, be that the desk bound employee or the remote worker. The ‘Adaptive Workplace’ is an Atos Origin strategic key offering and provides a full range of modular and flexible desktop and end-user support services. These services allow the end user to work anywhere, anyplace, and at anytime and has already been successfully deployed at many clients worldwide enabling them to achieve cost reductions up to 40% on workplace management costs. Atos Origin currently manages more than 700,000 desktops and 20,000 servers“.
