Avis Europe centralises on CODA-Financials for European shared services
28th May 2007 CODA plc, the finance systems specialist, has signed a contract with Avis Management Services Ltd for financial management software and services over the next three years. Avis Europe is a leading car rental company in Europe, Africa, Middle-East and Asia, providing business and leisure customers with a wide range of services at more than 3,700 locations Avis Europe operates a financial shared service centre in Budapest , Hungary . The centre is responsible for the majority of the transaction processing for Avis Europe's corporate offices.
“We chose CODA because we wanted to work with a company that had experience with pan-European software projects and clear understanding of local fiscal requirements,” said Mark Kightley, programme manager, Avis. “During the evaluation process, the CODA team impressed us. They showed us how their new product release will allow us to automate the invoice matching process and reduce the risk of manual error, which is important in a shared services model. We also expect the new system to help us manage expenses better in accordance with country level regulations. Choosing a system that could help us control these areas was important and we believe the software will help us optimise the performance of the shared service centre.”
Avis has purchased licenses for the Neon software, the latest version of CODA's software CODA-Financials. The contract also includes licenses for CODA-Control Manager which will help automate the processes around period end close in the shared service centre on behalf of local finance teams. Avis has also purchased software for procurement, invoice matching, billing and reporting. It is currently testing the software as part of CODA's Neon beta programme and expects the initial implementation to be completed this year.

Avis runs its shared services IT infrastructure under the Microsoft Windows Operating System with a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database.
