CDPP in Australia selects Agresso Business World ERP

19th May 2011

The Australian Government Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) has selected Agresso’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite following the conclusion of a comprehensive tender process.

The news follows an extensive evaluation of the Agresso product and organisational capabilities of the Agresso business. The Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) is an independent prosecuting service established by the Parliament of Australia to prosecute alleged offences against Commonwealth law, and to deprive offenders of the proceeds and benefits of criminal activity. As a dynamic organisation with around 590 staff and offices in all Australian States and Territories, the CDPP plays a key role ensuring fairness and equity in Australian society through its prosecutorial role.

The CDPP plans to make extensive use of Agresso’s web based delivery and role based workflow in streamlining business process throughout the CDPP’s operations across the country. Agresso satisfies the CDPP’s objective to provide highly secure, reliable and low-maintenance Financial Management Information System (FMIS) that can be accessed anywhere, any time and that doesn’t require the ongoing, expensive change costs typical of ERP market solutions. The CDPP’s selection of Agresso underscores the company’s success against other tier one ERP vendors.  Agresso will replace the current SAP Finance platform which the agency has used for some 10 years. Using Agresso’s agile implementation approach the project is scheduled to go-live in July 2011, 5 months after starting the implementation project.

“We are delighted to be working with such a high profile agency the CDPP, on this transformative project. I am proud of our team, their dedicated approach to ensuring all of the CDPP’s requirements were met with standard functionality was demonstrated throughout the evaluation process. The low total cost of ownership inherent in the Agresso Business World solution, a direct result of the underpinning easy-change architecture, once again allowed us to prevail in a hotly contested competition against other Tier one vendors” said John Catarinich – Chief Executive officer of Agresso Pty Limited.

This win follows on from the recent Government success with the Queensland Government - Department of Education. The CDPP is a particularly respected Commonwealth agency, highly credentialed and well connected to other Statutory, Legal and Law Enforcement agencies and Departments and represents a key plank of Agresso’s Government strategy in Australia.
