CODA hosted, managed finance system selected by international consulting firm   12th February 2007 Evolve Partners LLP has selected CODA-Financials as its new company finance system from financials software house, CODA. The agreement with CODA offers Evolve a fully hosted solution with CODA providing support services through its Managed Services team. This includes full technical and operational support such as database administration services and ongoing application tuning, and ensures the health of the hardware, minimising the chance of system downtime. Evolve has also purchased licenses for CODA-XL for reporting and CODA-Link for integration with other business systems. It will be running CODA-Financials under the Microsoft Windows 2000 Operating System with a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. CODA-Financials was chosen as it met Evolve's multi-site requirements. “We wanted a flexible system that would be easy to implement across all of our locations and that could cope with the different currencies we work in,” said Martin Johnson, Group Finance Manager at Evolve. “Our previous system was not easily able to do this and consequently could not provide us with a true picture of the entire company's performance.  The old system could not provide us with output data in a useful format which left us having to spend much time manipulating the data in Excel in order to provide meaningful management information. “Using CODA, we will have a more accurate view of our finances, at the touch of a button, and will be able to drill down in the detail and analyse the business by office and sector, as well as by client, and within client by job number. And, because the system is fully browser-based, we can access one version of our information from any location.” CODA's ability to support multi-national requirements in a single version of the application allows it to accommodate the multiple currencies as well as legislative and cultural differences inherent in running international companies, within the same system. A sophisticated account code structure with virtually unlimited analysis allows CODA to cope easily with multiple corporate reporting structures. CODA-Financials will enable Evolve to account for departmental costs from marketing and IT to expenses at a Group level, breaking them down by company and project. “As a consultancy, it is important that we can analyse the various levers of our profitability at a detailed level,” Mr Johnson continued. “We need to consider the relative contribution of each client job and to keep track of our investments in business and people development, in order to manage our profitability as effectively as possible. A hosted solution is ideal as it minimises support and maintenance requirements for us while ensuring uptime and product integrity.
