CODA launches new Financial Intelligence software   1st May 2006 CODA Group, the finance systems specialist, has launched two new products designed to make real-time financial analytics quicker and easier for accountants. The new CODA-Intelligence solution is an analytic framework for in-depth, high-volume, offline analysis of financial and other key business data and the ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) engine has been completely redesigned and rebuilt using Microsoft Integration Services - technology embedded within SQL Server 2005. The new CODA-Intelligence solution extracts key data from transactional systems and stores it in a financial data mart that optimises the data for analysis and reporting. CODA says, easy to configure wizards have been written into the software negating the need for accountants to understand the underlying Microsoft technology in detail. Data from the data mart can be displayed to suit the individual user in a number of ways, for example, personalised portals for delivering real-time intelligence to each user's desktop, summaries and key performance indicators to display the information that each user needs to keep track of, in the most meaningful way. Finally, in-depth reporting and analysis, using reports, cubes and ratios to dig deeper for the required answers. In addition, CODA has designed CODA-Analytic Explorer using the latest technologies from Microsoft for online analysis and modelling. It is a multi-dimensional analysis tool that takes data from the CODA-Intelligence data mart, or directly from CODA-Financials. It provides key management and information users with cubes of data relevant to their function, giving them browsing, reporting and analysis capabilities quickly, easily and cost effectively. CODA-Analytic Explorer has been built using Microsoft desktop tools and Analysis Services, embedded in SQL Server 2005. “The significance of SQL Server 2005 for accountants has been overlooked,” said Tim Tribe, head of product management at CODA Group. “It offers low-cost, no-hassle business intelligence capability through advanced reporting and analysis tools. It has been improved to handle large amounts of data across the enterprise and using this technology, our new tools enable enterprise reporting and analysis over operational and analytical financial data. This analysis will be simpler for accountants and delivered in a familiar format.” CODA customers running version 10.1 of CODA-Financials or later versions will be able to run Analytic Explorer over CODA-Intelligence or directly over the finance system.
