Eickhoff, a manufacturer of mining and drive technology, is standardising its five German companies on Infor ERP LN. The newly formed Eickhoff Wind Power near Dresden went live with Infor ERP LN first in January 2009. Up next the parent company in Bochum will follow.
The subsidiary Eickhoff Wind Power was newly founded in Klipphausen near Dresden. The company produces wind turbine gearboxes in series. Eickhoff chose Infor ERP LN to consolidate Eickhoff Wind Power together with the Bochum sites in an integral multi-site environment.
Baan IV has been used at the four subsidiaries in Bochum successfully since 1998. With the upgrade to Infor ERP LN the inter-company processes will be further streamlined. At the moment the different sites still deal with each other on a customer-supplier basis. Bochum orders and Klipphausen delivers along with a delivery note and invoice. Infor ERP LN will enable Eickhoff to decrease the associated administrative and accounting efforts and simply charge for parts or services internally.
The transition will change the ERP environment at Eickhoff fundamentally. Today the headquarters in Bochum runs a separate virtual server with Baan IV while Eickhoff Wind Power uses Infor ERP LN running on a physical server. Now the aim is to integrate the system for all locations on a central virtual server in Bochum to minimize maintenance.
Approximately 200 employees will use the new software company-wide. Less administration and greater transparency from order to delivery will help in meeting customer requirements on time, without jeopardizing margins.
"After many years of positive experiences with Baan IV it was clear for us to go for Infor ERP LN," said Klaus Jockel, director of data processing and organisation. "The latest generation of the software will map our multi-site environment better and will make the Eickhoff group much more transparent – at a reasonable TCO. In addition we plan the implementation of Infor Enterprise Asset Management for an optimised maintenance and efficient operation of our machines."
