Greggs plc the bakers purchases CODA software

CODA Group, the finance software specialist, says that Greggs plc has signed a contract for its Financials software for more than 100 finance users accounting for more than 1,350 shops in a deal worth around £600K in the first year.

Following a thorough systems evaluation, Greggs decided that the functionality of the CODA software would best meet its desire to move to a more centralised shared service accounting model. Currently, Greggs operates 10 regional installations of its current finance system, built and maintained in-house, and wanted to centralise these for longer term efficiencies whilst being able to produce both divisional and group accounts more efficiently.

“The CODA team worked closely with us to show how the core product functionality would meet the needs of our business,” said Lee Massingham, Finance Systems Manager at Greggs. “We are therefore confident that the chosen applications will support both our divisional structure and our requirement to provide increasingly timely, accurate information at a shop level. We were reassured by the professionalism of the CODA team and their suggested approach to the overall project. The product will interface to our existing manufacturing and EPOS applications, helping us to further automate our accounting processes.”

Greggs is also keen to move from a quarterly reporting cycle to reporting monthly and wanted to be able to analyse more detailed information from each shop relating to monthly profitability. Integration with Greggs' other business systems, means that the company will have access to more accurate information about the business more quickly than ever before.

In addition to CODA's Financials software, Greggs has purchased CODA's XL reporting add-on and software for asset accounting, billing, invoice matching and business intelligence. CODA's process control software will help to automate many of the processes involved in sharing information across the business making them more controlled and efficient including activities related to expense accounting and spend management.
