Guascor Power, a specialist designer and manufacturer of motors and power systems, has upgraded its ERP to Infor ERP LN in order to improve its planning, revenue and cost control over projects.
Guascor Power provides equipment and energy solutions for power generation, cogeneration, renewables and marine applications. Connection between the engineering and manufacturing aspects is one of the company’s key requirements, along with handling complicated designs, meeting production and delivery times, and providing excellent post-sales support. The company belongs to Group Guascor, recently acquired by DRESSER RAND, which has worked with Infor ERP LN since 2008.
Until now, the company used Infor ERP Baan IV. This tool helped them handle changes successfully, as well as communicating these changes to the whole organisation, and maintaining a healthy financial status. Offers became more precise and less time consuming, as those involved in making them had improved access to information. The company also achieved better control over production costs and on-going projects.
Since January 2011, the Guascor has been using the latest version of Infor ERP LN, an ERP solution that enables it to cluster all of its management applications into a single centralised system. Expected advantages include better traceability of purchase and sales management, thanks to the new purchase order cycle; an improved service module; and improved management of projects – in terms of planning, cost control, revenue recognition methods as well as better visibility of inventories relating to subcontractors, consignments, and warehouses managed by suppliers (VMI – Vendor Managed Inventory).
