Hexagon updates LandMark Property Management System
25th June 2007
Hexagon, a developer of property management software, has announced that its LandMark system has achieved compliance with the latest RICS code of practice that came into effect on 1 st April 2007 relating to the handling of commercial property service charges. This new module is part of a comprehensive upgrade to LandMark that gives property management companies a complete solution without the technical challenges of integrating 3 rd party solutions.

Hexagon's Service Charge module standardises the way that calculations are made and categorises expenditure for commercial office buildings, retail premises and industrial estates. It allows the production of a range of standard tenant reports in the required formats and meets all RICS guidelines for transparency, flexibility and level handedness.
A new HelpDesk module enables property management companies to provide a full listing of all tenant and landlord costs and an effective maintenance support service for every type of property contract. Calls from tenants are logged, assigned to specific internal or external maintenance providers and tracked from start to finish. It also streamlines the organisation of planned maintenance and Health and Safety inspections including the automatic programming of dates into diaries to ensure efficient allocation of time and resources.

HelpDesk also adds financial and works order project management functionality to keep tabs on refurbishment or development projects. This gives greater control of all costs with an instant view of the profitability of every project and how they compare to budget.

The third major upgrade to the LandMark property management system is DeskTop, a business intelligence solution that streams accurate, real-time information from across the business direct to individual users. The information is tailored to individual requirements and is always available at the desktop to improve the day-to-day decision making process. Alerts can be set for specific times when emails can be automatically generated to send information to nominated staff members. DeskTop also links to laptops, PDAs and other mobile devices including the Blackberry giving users access to information regardless of location.
