Infor, says that it is among the first vendors to integrate the functions required for supporting the new Common Identification Number for Delivery Improvement (CINDI) procurement process at Renault as standard functionality into its Infor ERP Xpert, the previous version Infor ERP XPPS and Infor CRM ACmanager (Automotive Customer Manager) solutions. The applications have been designed especially for automotive suppliers.
The new process at Renault, which requires what is known as a RAN (release authorisation number) for synchronising orders, has been mandatory since 2006 for suppliers in contract with two particular production plants. Now, CINDI is entering the final rollout phase in January 2007. By spring, the process will be deployed in all the Renault plants. Altogether, some 1,000 plus suppliers will have to adapt to the new regulation.
Infor now supports the entire range of Renault shipping processes for suppliers. Regardless of whether the material is picked for delivery by conventional means using an outgoing goods list or by means of the optimised shipping control system, users have the corresponding functions at their disposal. Using Infor, it is possible to prepare all the internal and external documents, such that both the suppliers and also Renault can process workflows to optimum effect. The changes extend from the material tags, to the packing slips and picking lists through to the GALIA delivery note along with the associated EDI notification. Special attention has also been paid to the implementation of scanner-assisted processes.
As early as July last year, Renault confirmed validation of the first Infor ERP Xpert customer using the solution, which enables the company to comply with new functions in addition to exchanging data and documents in the required way. Now, the processes at Neumayer Tekfor, a global automotive supplier of transmissions, drivelines and chassis and safety fasteners, have also been validated. Infor supports this supplier, headquartered in Hausach, Baden-Württemberg, from the order receipt, to the provision of the material through to the shipment and the associated EDI processes.
"With Renault, we integrated the automated processing of transport identifications, distribution zones, distribution times and points of consumption into our solution in the preliminary stages of the project", explains Wolfram Schmid, Manager Industry & Product Marketing Automotive. "Infor is renowned for maintaining very close contacts with the automotive industry and implementing new standards early on – Renault is the most recent proof of just how our industry and business-specific experience can pay off for our users."
