Infor unveils Automotive Exchange for SyteLine

16th June 2014

Infor, has announced Infor Automotive Exchange, an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and release accounting system designed specifically for automotive tier suppliers. Infor Automotive Exchange works directly with Infor SyteLine, Infor’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) product, which focuses on high volume manufacturers such as tier automotive suppliers.

Infor Automotive Exchange helps enable tier suppliers to quickly and efficiently communicate order demand, shipment and labelling information with their Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers using Infor SyteLine as the core ERP. The combination of Automotive Exchange with SyteLine establishes an automotive industry product suite that Infor says provides exceptional connectivity, capabilities and user experience.

The product suite supports many of the global automotive EDI requirements commonly used by OEM and tier suppliers with preconfigured and ready-to-use Transformation Services (TFS) translation maps and transformation via Sales Release Management (SRM) business rule controls. Communication to and from Infor SyteLine is conveyed through Infor ION, the intelligent open network that is used across numerous Infor applications.

Infor Automotive Exchange includes EDI applications that have been developed from the ground up. The global offering covers all regions of the world that use X.12, Edifact, Odette, VDA and emerging XML standards. The product offers more than translation capabilities, including full trading partner rules, CUM management, in transit calculations, order rationalisation and release sequencing. The transaction support features closed loop forecasts, orders, schedules, shipments and financials.

Infor Automotive Exchange comes with preconfigured translations, business partner order rules and documents delivered as a single set. Infor Automotive Exchange can be used on premise or hosted as a full Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment. The Infor ION based integration provides support for many ERPs and is easily integrated to others. The single technology stack affords a common security model, with the master data controlled via the synchronised ERP.

“As a high volume manufacturer, our data is constantly changing. We are always looking for a better, faster way to communicate information, both within our organisation and with customers,” said Peter Šifrer, Finance and Administration manager, LTH Castings Group. “Through the power of Infor ION, this product enables us to circulate critical data that is stored in ERP, Infor Automotive Exchange (EDI) and other applications, equipping our employees with real-time information.”

“Automotive tier suppliers face a unique set of challenges, including increasingly high standards in order accuracy while reducing costs to process the orders,” said John Bermudez, vice president, Product Management, Infor. “With a product like Infor Automotive Exchange, tier suppliers can help boost productivity and increase speed and response-ability with their OEM customers while regaining resources that in the past were spend maintaining EDI transactions and manual order and shipment transaction processing.”
