UNIT4 selected for Research Management & Administration System procurement framework (RMAS) for Higher Education sector

25th August 2012

UNIT4 Business Software Ltd, the UK division of global business software group UNIT4, says that it has been selected as an approved supplier for the RMAS (Research Management & Administration System) procurement framework. RMAS will enable Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and colleges to procure ‘best of breed’ technology solutions to improve the research management and administration process and make £35,000 savings over OJEU tender process with further £75,000 p.a. savings for each module purchased under the agreement.

Institutions can pick and choose whichever RMAS applications they need to support their individual research management requirements from a selection of eight modules that include CRM, Proposal Management and Costing and Post Award Management. The modules will be available on-premises or in the cloud, with the capability to interface with existing systems using the UK adopted data format standard (CERIF). Of the six suppliers selected for RMAS UNIT4 says it is the only vendor approved to supply all eight modules.

RMAS is being project managed by JISC and funded by HEFCE.

“RMAS now meets its original vision to be a framework that will deliver tangible savings through a reduced procurement cycle and being a complete solution that will help further improve the world-class research UK institutions deliver to funders.” said Simon Foster, RMAS Co-ordinating Project Manager at University of Exeter.

“We are delighted to be part of this framework,” said Anwen Robinson, Managing Director of UNIT4 Business Software Ltd. “More Universities and colleges are turning to research as a means to generate additional income. RMAS will make them more competitive in both domestic and global markets.”
