The University of Bath is to implement Agresso's financial and business management system in a contract worth £600,000. The University will replace its current Lawson system with the financials, procurement and project costing and billing modules of AGRESSO Business World, going live in 2007.
Agresso won the contract in competition with Distinction, a company it now owns, and with Oracle. Diane Aderyn, the University of Bath 's director of finance, said, "The University wanted an integrated, user friendly system which will give our budget holders better, clearer information, with commitment accounting, to help tighten control over our financial management. Improved reporting and enhanced project costing and billing for our research activities was important; the opportunity to re-engineer our internal cross charging will also be of particular value."
The recent acquisition of Distinction has given Agresso access to specialist education software, including student administration and CRM systems, allowing it to offer a full ERP solution to existing and prospective higher and further education customers.
