Oracle this week announced new mobile apps for users of its JD Edwards ERP system. The new apps cover requisitioning and self service approval, purchase order approval and sales enquiry capability. Oracle says the investment in mobile capability is all designed to extend user choice and help improve productivity by delivering management solutions that can be accessed at any time or from anyplace.
Mobile Requisition Self Service Approval, provides real-time transaction processing for the review, approval or rejection of requisitions. Mobile Purchase Order Approval helps enable mobile workers to review and approve purchase orders regardless of physical location and finally, Mobile Sales Inquiry addresses the needs of sales representatives, service technicians and managers to access sales orders, item availability and item base price on-demand.
“Intuitive, easy-to-use mobile applications and services help organizations make faster and better decisions, while giving employees a more flexible work environment,” said Rebecca Wettemann, vice president of research, Nucleus Research. “Organizations need to enable their employees to access and leverage critical business information in real time. Oracle is one of the vendors that is meeting this demand, and with the new JD Edwards EnterpriseOne mobile applications and its broader mobile device support, it is well positioned to help its customers realize the promise of the mobile – and more productive - workforce.”
