Bonnier Group has selected OCRA, a group financial reporting tool, from UNIT4 the ERP provider. Bonnier is a privately owned Swedish media group with 175 companies and around 11,000 employees across 16 countries. The decision to implement OCRA (which handles consolidated financial statements, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow) follows hard on the heels of Bonnier’s decision earlier this year to selected UNIT4’s Agresso ERP system to replace more than 60 different accounting and payroll administration systems to gain economies of scale through shared services.
“With the implementation of OCRA, we look forward to a cost-effective, easy to use, powerful solution for our group reporting,” says Åsa Thunberg, Financial Manager at Bonnier. “The fact that OCRA is a web-based application which is capable of consolidating and reporting on the Bonnier Group’s complex organisational structure is also important to Bonnier.”
The purpose of changing to OCRA is to achieve greater efficiency, in particular around operation and system maintenance. The new system can also provide Bonnier with improved capabilities for analysis and monitoring, as well as greater transparency in operational and legal reporting. With the move to OCRA, Bonnier is also looking forward to better capabilities for analysing data and running reports, something that has previously been requested within the Group.
“Bonnier’s choice of OCRA confirms the simplicity and effectiveness of our product,” says Anwen Robinson, UK Managing Director at UNIT4. “We are very pleased that Bonnier has chosen OCRA and are looking forward to being a part of the company’s global streamlining programme.”
Bonnier plans to begin the group reporting implementation project in early 2011.
