Cartesis says its latest benchmarking programme has established breakthrough levels of Fast Close performance. Carried out with Cartesis Finance, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and HP Integrity servers, the testing demonstrated peak performance including more than 1,500 concurrent active users, the first time such levels have been achieved while maintaining real-life system usage. Highlights of the benchmark results included running 12 simultaneous consolidations with up to 500 active concurrent users in one application and average response times under three seconds.
Cartesis says that the poor performance of some consolidation applications has been a significant barrier for companies seeking to improve close times.
“We are keenly aware of the pressure companies are under to achieve a fast close and create sustainable compliance processes,” said Crispin Read, CMO Cartesis. “The benchmark results show how a powerful performance management framework can support a large number of users with the speed and accuracy financial executives demand. At the end of the day, this level of performance translates hours into minutes and has a tangible impact on close times – making them up to five times faster.”
The testing was conducted by Cartesis in a Microsoft Technology Center on Microsoft SQL server 2005 and HP Integrity servers. The testing programs simulated real life usage scenarios and user profiles with the equivalent of six months of actual reporting cycles involving more than 14,000 data submissions and160,000 input schedules.
