Cartesis, the finance and performance management software house, and EDGAR Online, Inc. have announced details of a formal partnership to integrate Cartesis 10 with the EDGAR Online database of public company financial information. Cartesis customers will now be able to feed traditionally inward-facing financial and operational management applications with external financial data from I-Metrix to deliver more comprehensive views of their company's performance and how it compares to that of their peer groups.
"Once companies pull EDGAR Online data into the integrated data model shared by all Cartesis applications, they have persistent data and can calculate historical trends and KPIs that help measure their company's performance," says Trevor Walker, VP of Product Marketing at Cartesis. "This new data can also be used to drive the planning and forecasting processes. This allows organisations to better benchmark and set targets that are market focused rather than just internal and historically focused."
"Our I-Metrix data adds a third dimension to the Cartesis client's ability to benchmark themselves against their peers," says Susan Strausberg, CEO of EDGAR Online, Inc. "In an era where investors and regulators are looking for more transparent information about companies, senior management teams are also looking for more comprehensive views to help them understand how they perform relative to their competition. The combination of Cartesis and EDGAR Online I-Metrix data accomplishes that for them."
Cartesis 10 is a business performance management (BPM) suite that corporate finance professionals use to manage the historical, current and future financial performance of their companies. With this new partnership, they will now be able to pull any extensible business reporting language (XBRL) data from EDGAR Online's I-Metrix database into a rich, highly integrated performance management suite to perform benchmarking, create key performance indicators (KPIs), and run what-if scenarios. This newly accessible wealth of external financial data will aid planning, budgeting and forecasting, merger and acquisition (M&A) analysis as well as improve executives' overall understanding of how their companies are positioned. Companies will greatly benefit by exploring these new views into company performance because they add context to traditional internal performance measurement.
EDGAR Online's I-Metrix, is a data and analytical suite of products that targets the corporate and financial communities with granular information and value-added tools that facilitate broad company and industry analysis including benchmarking, peer analysis, valuation modeling, scenario testing and contribution analysis among others.
Cartesis 10 will be available in June 2006.
