Global pharmaceuticals embrace best of breed Runbook for financial close in SAP

1st September 2010

Runbook, a specialist provider of financial software solutions for automating the financial close, internal controls and compliance processes in SAP has reported a string of wins in the pharmaceutical sector.  Although Runbook is not designed specifically for the pharmaceutical market, Rob Leesberg, co-founder, responsible for product development at Runbook Company, says that these global enterprises typically have complex closing and control structures.

“It is not exceptional that over 100,000 activities need to be executed to financially close a period. In addition, governmental and industry rules and regulations are severe which makes managing internal controls key to mitigating the risks of a major impact. ERP systems and spreadsheets which historically were the tools at their disposal have not provided the solution to faster and more dependable reporting,” Leesing told FSN.  Recent wins in the sector include, Novartis, Sandoz, Roche, Crucell and Hexal.
