Reed Consulting launches HR Benchmarking website to address needs of the Companies Bill
6th November 2006 Reed Consulting, the provider of HR consultancy has launched a new HR benchmarking website to enable Finance Directors to compare their Return on Investment ROI in people to support and guide organisations seeking to comply with the reporting requirements outlined in the Companies Bill which is expected to come into effect in December this year. It also allows organisations to carry out sector comparisons, to benchmark their investments in people and improve their people and business performance.
“The website gives Finance Directors and HR Directors a common platform to compare the extent to which improvements in people metrics actually impact upon the bottom line performance of the company,” says Laura Frith, managing director of Reed Consulting.
“The Companies Bill requirements are likely to create greater transparency about people management within organisations. This creates an impetus for Finance and HR to work together to improve the ROI in people to ensure the metrics they present in the Business Review send the right messages to the companies employees and investors or stakeholders,” adds Frith.
“Most organisations in the UK pay out over 50% of their overall spend on employee costs such as salary, training and benefits. There has in the past been a tension between Finance and HR. We're launching this website to provide a forum for Finance to work with HR to demonstrate more clearly how investments in people deliver tangible returns on the bottom line,” Frith concludes.
