Report Authority announces direct links to Oracle Hyperion HFM

19th July 2012

Following last month’s press launch of “Report Authority” the document authoring and global XBRL tagging solution for the finance function, AMOSCA has announced that the latest release of Report Authority will provide an automated link to HFM making it extremely attractive to Hyperion customers, all of whom are expected to require a dynamic link to their XBRL document authoring and tagging solution.

Report Authority works with a variety of data sources including Oracle Hyperion Financial Management(HFM), Microsoft Excel, and by extension, any system capable of exporting to Excel.  In the case of HFM, the whole multi-dimensional structure of the HFM application is exposed within the Report Authority application.  Of the 12 HFM dimensions, it is usually only the Account and Custom dimensions which need to be altered. All the other dimensions are defaulted to either the connection defaults, or to the document variables such as Entity, Year and Period.

This means that any data in HFM can be quickly dragged into the document under preparation. A simple set of dialogue boxes allow monetary scaling and signage between the source data and Report Authority to be brought into line.

Any changes made to either the meta-data or data in HFM are automatically picked up by the HFM link retaining the integrity of the data.  Further efficiencies are gained in future years through the retention of the dynamic links when the tagged documents are rolled over from one period to another.HFM linked documents can also be used as the basis of templates which can be deployed to individual companies (subsidiaries) in the group.

Commenting on the latest release, Noel Gorvett, director of AMOSCA told FSN, “The link to HFM is an exciting development in the growth of XBRL compliant solutions. With many companies unhappy with manual and clumsy processes of their hastily chosen XBRL solutions, Report Authority with its HFM adaptor and multijusidiction taxonomy capabilities is proving a popular choice enabling organizations to own the document production process, efficiently and effectively authoring and tagging their accounts.”
