Access Accounting Ltd, the mid-market supplier of accounting and supply chain management systems has re-configured its business operations to prepare for a new phase of growth. Alistair O'Reilly, founder of the Group told FSN, "the re-structuring will allow me to focus on strategic acquisitions whilst enabling the rest of the group to flourish under talented management dedicated to the performance of their operating companies."
Under the restructuring, the software house, a notable British success and winner of the 2005 Accountancy Age Mid-Market Software Award, has formed a new holding company, Access Technology Group Ltd, and four subsidiaries covering the London and Irish dealerships, the manufacturing/supply chain business and the core accounting system business.
O'Reilly told FSN that the re-structuring has been precipitated to some extent by the success of the business. "We have made a number of acquisitions over the last 18 months and have grown our business without taking on additional headcount at the centre. It made business sense at this pivotal point in time to create the holding company to manage the enlarged business more effectively. The move will ensure parity between all four businesses, which have great synergies and will be able to work to mutual benefit, whilst pursuing their own specialities and succeeding in their own right," he added.
Noting the importance of the reseller community to Access' growth O'Reilly said, "We decided to acquire the London and Ireland dealerships so that we could concentrate on our loyal dealerships and assign full time management to the channel."
