Access supports control Aer’s upgrade to Windows 7

Access, the mid-market consulting, software and solutions provider, has supported Control Aer’s upgrade to Windows 7 by seamlessly transitioning Access Dimensions to the new operating system. Access Dimensions, says the company, is fully compatible with Windows 7.

“In this current economic environment, every business needs to maintain its sales and cashflow to survive and prosper and it’s important not to waste time on an accounting system that doesn’t support the business,” said Michael Renaghan, Financial Director, Control Aer. “We chose Access Dimension several years ago to support our needs and it has always stood up to the tests we put it through. We wouldn’t have migrated unless Access was able to support Windows 7. The support team didn’t hesitate at all when we asked to upgrade.”

Access Dimensions is a business-wide solution, offering over 40 seamlessly integrated modules to cover the core range of business finance tools from cashflow analysis through to key operational functionality including stock, project management and manufacturing software. It was also the first solution to offer carbon emissions measurement and reporting as part of the core accounts package.

According to Forrester Research, two-thirds of companies in the UK will eventually upgrade their operating system to Windows 7. The research showed that Windows 7 will become the new standard for most commercial PCs in the next 12 months.

Alex Reeves, Director of Access, said, “Increasingly Windows 7 will be the operating system of choice. Having tried and tested business and accounting software will make the upgrade to Windows 7 a straightforward move for all of these businesses. Control Aer chose to work with us over four years ago because we had a consultative approach and a straightforward solution, with the tools to streamline data collection and provide visibility of processes and costs across an entire organisation.”

Renaghan continued, “Access Dimensions does what it was purchased to do and without derailing any of our energies away from selling and competing in our markets. The support is available from Access, but it’s almost never required. We’re able to get on with what we do as a business because our investment in Access is delivering a return across the business.”
