BGL Group selects Apex Computers as its IBM premier business partner

Apex Computers, a provider of IT systems and services to the mid-market and public sector, says that it has been selected to become BGL Group’s IBM Business Partner.  The BGL Group‘s brands include comparethemarket.com and motor/home insurance brands Budget and ibuyeco, The Group also operates Bennetts bike insurance as well as external partnerships with a number of other well-known and established brands such as Post Office, Marks & Spencer, HSBC and Auto Trader.

Apex went through an intense tender process, competing against other established IBM Business Partners (BP’s), and is now BGL’s partner of choice, working with the Group to build an IT roadmap for the next three to five years.

BGL is the third biggest user of IBM’s Power i platform in Europe. Despite the challenging economic climate, through its unique culture and business approach, the Group is enjoying a sustained period of profit growth.Dean Freed, Senior Manager, IT Supplier Management for BGL, commented, “We selected Apex for several reasons; their technical innovation, their professionalism, the opportunity to make significant savings, and last but not least, we believe they are a partner we can work with”.
