DHL chooses REgenerist for waste and recycling collections
10th December 2007 Çedilla Systems, a reseller of Microsoft Dynamics-based software solutions, and part of the Qurius Group, has announced that DHL Exel Supply Chain has become the latest customer for REgenerist - Çedilla's software-based solution for the waste and recycling sector.
Initially, DHL will use REgenerist to facilitate the collection of waste from civic amenity sites to be transferred to recycling centres. REgenerist will provide details of total tonnes of waste, and a breakdown of what was actually recycled.
Çedilla specifically modified the system for DHL to cater for the Evidence Worksheet that is used to report to the Environment Agency, to automatically calculate the weight of each form of waste using the standard % breakdown protocol for CAT 1-10 waste.
The REgenerist system links in with the DHL corporate financials system, simplifying a process that would otherwise have been fraught with difficulty; the Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities invoice DHL, who in turn invoice the producers of the waste. All of this is seamlessly integrated within REgenerist.
REgenerist is based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision). The next phase in the DHL project will be the business-to-business waste collection and recycling service. Companies commissioning DHL to collect their waste will have their calls and details logged within REgenerist. The system will enable DHL to arrange the collection and transport of waste (including legacy WEEE), and automatically produce the Quarter Return report required by the Environment Agency, which will be produced as an .XML file. This is the only electronic format the Environment Agency will accept.
DHL has also purchased Jet Reports, the Microsoft Excel-based reporting software which allows information from REgenerist to be analysed in greater detail.
