Infor, has announced it is to collaborate with Red Hat, Inc., the provider of open source solutions, to make Infor's ERP suite available on both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss Enterprise Middleware solutions, providing customers with a flexible solution based on industry standards that is high performing and reliable.
Infor10 ION and Infor LN are now certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating platform and JBoss Enterprise Middleware solutions. Certifying Infor applications on Red Hat’s open source platforms gives customers access to a broad base of innovation without lock-in and provides deployment choices for Infor solutions coupled with opportunities to lower costs significantly. Additionally, both Infor LN and ION can now leverage MySQL and MariaDB, further reducing the TCO of Infor LN and ION for cloud service providers and customers with mandates for use of open source within their IT infrastructures.
“Infor wants to provide our customers access to leading innovation while reducing total cost of ownership so they can focus on enabling business processes that help drive growth and profitability,” said Ali Shadman, SVP, Business Cloud, Infor.
By making its applications available on Red Hat open source stack, Infor enables customers to run applications on a flexible, open source platform for hybrid infrastructures that cross physical, virtual, and public cloud resources. Since Infor products support cloud and on-premise infrastructures using the same code base to provide identical functionality, collaborating with Red Hat is another way it helps customers lower the cost of deployment with scalability, performance, and reliability.
