In light of the growth in the Middle East market, Deloitte Middle East and Deloitte South African firms have joined together to create Deloitte Middle East Technologies. The joint venture (JV) will be based in Dubai and will enable Deloitte to capitalize on its specialist industry knowledge and large technology project experience in one of the fastest growing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation markets in the world.

"The ERP implementation market in the region shows very promising potential and Deloitte Middle East Technologies will allow us to combine our business knowledge and technology know-how to be an industry leader in this field," said Nader Srouji, partner in charge of consulting operations in the Middle East .

This new venture – the first between Deloitte Middle East and South Africa – builds on recent successes in the UAE and will now gear up to support clients as well as new projects in the Middle East. There will be a particular focus on SAP and Oracle implementations across the Middle East region.

Deloitte Middle East Technologies will consist of a specialized team in ERP implementation with competitive rates for configuration and applications support work using off-shore resources. In addition, the Deloitte Middle East firm provides a foundation of long-standing client relationships and infrastructure to support this venture.

"While most projects will originate within the region, some may be referrals originating outside the region. In such cases, the JV would be ideally positioned to provide the necessary services on behalf of the wider firm," said Mr. Srouji.
