Deltek has announced the release of Vision 5, the newest version of its solution for project-focused professional services firms, designed to deliver new resource planning capabilities that enable organisations to more effectively balance the process of managing project budgets and resource workloads.

Deltek says the new Resource Planning module of Vision 5 helps project managers save time by allowing them to make changes across projects and resource assignments, and to see the impact of those changes instantaneously. Also, the new Resource Planning module integrates seamlessly with the entire enterprise-wide Vision solution, offering project managers real-time insight into employee billing rates, actual labour charges and other vital information needed to bring projects in on time and on budget.
Other enhancements include, new reporting customisation capabilities which provide a single-screen view of the health of project portfolios; n ew inventory management capabilities that track inventory and materials by location, value inventory for costing purposes and assign inventory to project invoices.
