Weir Materials & Foundries (WMF), a specialist in manufacturing corrosion-resistant steel products for the oil, gas and marine industries, is investing in METalchemist a business software solution from Ç edilla Systems developed specifically for the metals processing sector , based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Weir Materials and Foundries has invested in a 32 user METalchemist solution to facilitate stock and cut to length sales – while also managing larger project managed packaged contracts, billing, production, test certificates, financial accounts and job costing. Ç edilla will also be providing a new infrastructure system including networking software with database tuning, hardware and remote software maintenance services.
WMF want to remove duplication of processes across the business, gain better access to business performance information, improve stock control, sales management, production processes and provide a higher level of service to the customer.
METalchemist will provide WMF with more immediate stock availability and demand information, allowing sales staff to work more effectively. This will not only improve efficiency on stock management and customer service, but will help to forecast more accurate purchasing levels. The effective procurement planning options provided by METalchemist will guard against under and over purchasing, and enable the company to maintain optimum stock levels.
"We are looking forward to the many advantages and improvements METalchemist will bring to our business," commented Glenn Byrne the Sales and Technical Director at WMF. "Not only will the implementation mean better service to our customers, by offering and delivering on time the right products, to the correct specification and price, it will also allow us to develop our competitiveness and grow the business with the same overhead"
WMF expects METalchemist to be a tool to assist in growth of the business (including volumes of transactions, markets and locations). METalchemist will replace the current patchwork of systems with one manageable end-to-end solution operating on a single database and providing full integration of all business systems.
"The purchase of METalchemist will significantly increase productivity for WMF, improving relations inside and outside of the company," stated Jason Fazackerley, Çedilla Systems' sales director. "We are looking forward to working with them in the future."
