Infor says that Oldelval, an Argentine crude oil transportation company, has implemented Infor EAM Enterprise Edition to improve the maintenance and performance of the company’s assets and Infor FMS SunSystems to simplify and enhance its financial processes.
Oldelval, which transports more than 80 percent of the crude oil in the Neuquen oil basin of Argentina, turned to Infor to manage the maintenance and performance of more than 1,700 km of oil pipeline consisting of more than 160,000 pieces.
”We transport more than 30,000 cubic meters of crude oil daily. The pipeline is essential to our business. EAM Enterprise Edition allows us to manage linear assets and enables us to define an asset in terms of a linear detail like length and geographic reference,” states Jose Luis Vega, engineer manager, Oldelval. “Now, we have reference points every 12 metres. Additionally, we can now write work orders against any portion of the asset by specifying “to” and “from” points of a portion of the pipeline. This greatly simplifies our work, shortens repair times and creates efficiencies throughout the company.”
Maintaining pipeline integrity and monitoring the turbines across the company’s 16 pump stations are very important issues for Oldelval. Now, each pumping station is connected to the Infor software and centralized in Oldelval’s Neuquen data center, which provides complete visibility across the pipeline to help ensure operations continue uninterrupted.
The implementation of Infor FMS SunSystems has also been a primary strategy in Oldelval’s initiative to integrate and streamline financial resource management processes across its enterprise, gaining quicker access to more relevant financial data and obtaining greater data transparency.
