SAP On-Demand solution to integrate with more 3rd party offerings

19th July 2009

Customers using SAP’s mid-market ERP on demand solution can now access nine third-party Web services, including search engines and news services. SAP says that this service is designed to further enhance its integrated on-demand solution to make it easier for small and midsize companies to run their mission-critical business processes and manage their day-to-day business.

New collaboration agreements allow SAP Business ByDesign to be preconfigured to use Web services from Business Wire, Falk online, Google, GoYellow.de, Hoover's, MapQuest, Morningstar and Navteq/Map24.

Business Wire is a news distribution service and SAP customers will be able to subscribe to a Business Wire RSS feed to automatically receive news on a regular basis, displayed on their SAP Business ByDesign homepage. Falk online provides route planning, town and city maps, so that SAP users can map and route customers, suppliers and other contacts. Google, GoYellow.de, and Hoover’s similarly provide directory services.  Depending on their local reach, the nine complementary services are available immediately to customers in the six target go-to-market countries for SAP Business ByDesign: China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom and the United States.

SAP plans to expand the number of preconfigured Web services with the next release of SAP Business ByDesign, planned for the third quarter of 2009.
