Potens will cut time taken to produce management accounts by two weeks each month

14th March 2012

Potensial Ltd (trading as Potens), a specialist support provider for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs, has selected Advanced Business Solutions’ financial management system (OpenAccounts) to support the company’s growth and to improve management reporting. This new system, which will go live in April 2012, will be integrated with Potens’ existing CareSys solution - a suite of care industry specific business applications from Advanced Health & Care.

Potens provides a range of services across 50 sites in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Over the past seven years, the company has grown considerably, increasing its turnover to £15 million. As a rapidly growing company, its financial and reporting needs have become increasingly complex and manually-intensive and so a more sophisticated finance system was sought.

Tom Arnold, Potens Finance Director, says, “It is taking us 28 days to produce our monthly management accounts due to the labour intensive nature of the process. Using Advanced Business Solutions’ finance system, we anticipate cutting this time by half, providing us with more time to analyse our finances, resolve any issues and improve our financial standing.”

At Potens, OpenAccounts will be integrated with the organisation’s CareSys solution, which comprises invoicing, time & attendance and care planning software. Potens has been using CareSys for the last two years, and with the integration of OpenAccounts, Potens will be able to further streamline financial operations and care delivery.
Tom Arnold says “The integration of OpenAccounts with CareSys will ensure full visibility of our financial operations, for instance, invoices sent out using CareSys will be automatically recorded in OpenAccounts, preventing potential errors and duplication of effort. Time-consuming manual processes will also be significantly reduced and we look forward to being well-supported by Advanced as we continue to grow.”
