Agresso chalks up second big shared services contract in NHS
24th October 2005 Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is investing £900,000 in implementing Agresso's financial and business information system in a 7 year 9 month fixed term, hosted, managed service contract with Netstore. The Foundation Trust will go live on the core financials, purchasing, web requisitioning and invoice manager modules of AGRESSO Business World in April 2006 This contract follows hard on the heels of a similar shared services contract with four NHS Trusts in South Yorkshire reported by FSN last month.
The system will be installed on remote servers at Netstore's secure data centre in Gateshead and will be maintained by the application management services provider using what they describe as a low-risk, step-by-step approach. The contract also includes a Netstore BACS bureau service for electronic payments.
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust was looking for a finance system with strong procurement capabilities which would be easy to develop in the future. Roger Simpson, assistant director of finance, said: “The Trust has already made significant savings through online ordering but now requires a more modern and user friendly e-procurement system to enable hospital staff to order goods and services as cost efficiently as possible.”
Other key aspects in choosing AGRESS Business World was strength of its reporting and its flexibility. Simpson added: “The biggest business benefits we expect from moving to AGRESSO are better quality information and greater process efficiencies through the use of workflow, such as distributing budget statements and reports electronically.”
