22nd May 2006
Britannia Building Society says that it has in-sourced its payroll and HR administration, selecting mySAP from SAP, in conjunction with implementation partner, Pecaso and hosting partner, Attenda.

Britannia employs some 4400 people at its offices in Leek Staffordshire, London , Bristol and Plymouth and across 252 branches throughout the UK . It is currently replacing its HR system and outsourced payroll system with mySAP ERP HCM and is planning to roll-out manager and employee self service as phase 2 of the programme.

The mySAP Business Suite will help streamline HR process to enable Britannia management to be more effective in providing HR solutions for all their people.  This will include introducing choice around benefits through a flexible benefits plan, branded “Mutual Benefits” and ultimately enabling on-line career planning, personal development and support for the performance management process. Karen Moir Director of Organisational Development at Britannia commented “By bringing our HR systems back in-house we will be able to further advance our unique approach to people, as well as maximising our business efficiency”.

“The new system will also provide Britannia with the management information we need to make more informed decisions about our people. As a result of having mySAP in our business we will be able to react quickly to the changing needs of our people and continue to develop and reward them appropriately for their contribution to our business”.

Lee Harris, Financial Services Lead at SAP UK added: “As one of the leading building societies in the UK , it is essential that SAP provides Britannia with quality management information and HR processes, to enable it to develop, manage and grow its business. The partnership of SAP, Pecaso and Attenda is committed to delivering systems and services that are tailored to fit Britannia's requirements.”

Pecaso, which specialises in the delivery of HR solutions, will carry out the implementation, along with hosting partner Attenda. Both companies, in conjunction with SAP, have worked very closely with Britannia to design the best system to suit the building society's needs, and to smooth the way for implementation, which will start later this year. Britannia is using Sun Microsystems as its' technology platform.
