Gloucester Engineering chooses Infor ERP SyteLine in the cloud

24th May 2011

Gloucester Engineering will implement Infor’s ERP SyteLine Software taking advantage of Infor’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription model to benefit from the scalability, risk reduction and longevity offered through the cloud.

ERP SyteLine together with Infor’s ION integration capabilities is expected to allow Gloucester to manage its business processes, CRM, sales, financials and mixed mode manufacturing.  The cloud-based SyteLine Software offers the same functionality available in SyteLine’s on-premise software, as well as the additional flexibility of on-demand access. Copley Consulting Group, an Infor Channel Partner, helped Gloucester identify ERP SyteLine as the software to address its business challenges.

Gloucester Engineering selected Infor ERP SyteLine because it is a ‘multi-tenant’ solution that can be configured to integrate disparate systems to provide visibility across operations. Everything from tracking prospect opportunities and monitoring the shop floor to general ledger entry and financial reporting is housed in one application. This will enable Gloucester’s four business units to function within a single ERP system.

By having a centralized source for information, Gloucester employees will be able to track customer and account information more closely, and in turn, increase customer service levels.Gloucester expects remote locations and sales force users in the field will be able to depend on the cloud for instant database access, without having to be at a company site. It also hopes to reach its go-live date faster than with a traditional hosted model, more easily handle acquisitions, and cost-effectively manage future growth.

“IT infrastructure is a cost center within our organization and we don’t want to grow exponentially as we put in new systems,” said Adrian King, vice president of Finance, Gloucester Engineering. “Infor ERP SyteLine’s SaaS model gives us the scalability to support future growth without forcing us to increase our IT and administrative costs.  Having data in the cloud enables us to focus on our core business and leave system and hardware administration and backup to Infor.”
