This unique course touches on almost every part of management control and decision making. It goes far beyond the traditional ABC/M considerations of costing and profitability measurement and into serving the needs of the 21st Company.
The course examines the application of ABC/M to the MAX, i.e. its fullest extent drawing on relevant experiences of companies over the past decade. It provides insights into almost every area of management and decision making.
The course is designed to be an introduction to ABC/M and is a companion programme to the more detailed implementation course; FSN00064 which is an ideal follow up.

COURSE PRESENTER

John McKenzie; MBA (Cranfield), is an established authority on ABC/M and author of bestselling book “ABC to the MAX”. His experience in this field is unsurpassed and, from 1990 to date he has spoken at over 250 conferences and seminars in the U.K., Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Australia and USA, on diverse topics such as Activity Based Costing and Management, Process Re-engineering, Financial Planning, Performance Measurement and Advanced Budgeting.
John Mckenzie began his career with 12 years in the Ford Motor Company and was selected as one of eight candidates throughout Ford of Britain for accelerated management development in manufacturing and was sponsored at Cranfield Management School on a full-time MBA graduating on the director’s list for outstanding performance.
In 1986 John was headhunted by Unipart, where he became one of Europe’s leading practitioners and experts in the field of ABC. In 1995 John moved to Armstrong Laing Plc, producers of advanced ABC/M software, as Director of Consulting and in 2005 he joined SAS, the world’s 5th largest software company as Head of Financial Intelligence, responsible for ABC/M, budgeting, planning and performance management software. He has worked with companies such as Halifax Plc, British Airways, Seeboard Electricity, Sharwoods, Vauxhall Motors, IBC Vehicles, MATAV(Hungarian Telecom), Glasgow City Council, Royal Sun Alliance, NatWest, Unilever International, Standard Life and Aviva.
At the beginning of 2007, he left SAS to pursue a full time career in freelance consulting, lecturing and writing. He was a member of the Finance faculty of the Management Centre of Europe, based in Brussels for 7 years, lecturing and performing in-company training for diverse organisations such as Finnair, Lufthansa, Bayer, Janssen-Cilag and EADS Astrium.
He is a widely published author in a range of accounting and financial magazines, marketing and operational management magazines such as in house CIMA , ACCA, ICAEW magazines, Manufacturing Today, FSN, Marketing Today.
