As the summer comes to a conclusion it appears that storm clouds are gathering over the global economy.
When organizations meet more testing times their need for agile, supportive information systems and processes is even more pressing. At the beginning of the last downturn we saw companies investing more heavily in business intelligence and forecasting systems – hoping to get an inside track on performance ahead of trend. It will be interesting also to see if harsher economic conditions favour the rapidly multiplying cloud vendors whom, with a subscription-based model can seem more appealing when cash is tight.
