In recent weeks we have seen the rise of mobile applications for business which extend core business processes and place all manner of capability directly into the hands of employees. The transition from Netbooks as the preferred device to tablets and mobile phones has had a dramatic effect on the way that business works and has the potential to greatly enhance productivity, efficiency and organizational responsiveness. Workflow approvals, information needs and transactions can all be satisfied through the mobile device and yet we are just scratching the surface of what is feasible. In the current economic environment few organisations have an appetite for replacing their entire ERP system but mobile apps create a path for adding value to what is already there. It is a welcome trend that FSN will be following over the coming months.
