Can business software cope with euro exits or the collapse of the currency?

The euro experiment may fail. The currency may collapse. A country such as Greece, or Ireland, or Italy may decide to default on its debts or leave the euro. A return to the drachma, or the punt, or the lira could yet become a necessity. Peek-a-boo! It’s time to stop hiding behind the sofa. Because even if European politicians don’t want to remove their blinkers and acknowledge the need for a ‘plan B’, just in case the unthinkable happens and they have to ditch their grand plan, businesses must assess the risks they face and start making contingency plans.

Netherlands-based Caterpillar dealership goes live on Lawson for ESM&R

Infor10 underpins business transformation at BAE Systems

BAE Systems Military Air and Information (MAI) has chosen Infor10 to support a substantial business transformation program. Infor targets SAP applications for integration

Infor, this week announced packaged integration using Infor10 ION to connect with third-party applications. Infor10 ION is a ‘middleware’ platform that allows interoperability and business process management across Infor and non-Infor applications. Infor is immediately delivering ION Connector for use with SAP applications, with plans to roll out additional integrations to other non-Infor applications, including multiple Oracle applications, over the next year. The company added that customers can also build ION Connectors for their custom applications.

PwC's says global economic crime increasing

More than a third of businesses and other organisations around the world were victims of economic crime in the last 12 months, according to respondents to PwC's 2011 Global Economic Crime Survey released today. And nearly a quarter of victims said they were subject to cybercrime -- the use of technology as the main element in the economic crime. However, accounting fraud has declined steeply since 2009. The percentage of respondents reporting this type of fraud declined by 37 percent from 2009 and returned to 2005 levels.
